This mid 20th century US Military History photo features Corporal Charles H. Johnson of the 783rd Military Police Battalion, as he waves forward a ‘Red Ball Express' motor convoy which is rushing priority material to the forward areas, near Alenon, France, during World War II. A massive convoy system, namely the Red Ball Express, kept the advancing Allied forces well-supplied and stocked up following their breakout from Normandy. Photo taken on September 5, 1944.
