About Kevin Banker

Kevin Banker Photographer Kevin W. Banker was born in 1961. As a child, he was fascinated by films and the cinematography of the time. Kevin also began to doodle a lot and was encouraged to pursue the arts. Then, in his early 20s, he discovered photography. As his photography skills improved, Kevin was often asked to take photos of weddings.

Kevin attended the New York Institute of Photography, where he learned how to see the world through the eyes of a professional photographer. He learned the three fundamental guidelines to follow to make every photo a great photograph and studied everything from lighting to composition, as well as how to use the most modern DSLR cameras. Because of his studies, in September 2016, he received a Certificate of Graduation in "The Complete Course in Professional Photography".

Kevin continued his education with the New York Institute of Photography by enrolling in the Storytelling & Basic Film making course where he learned the art of storytelling through the creation of video. First by developing the eye of a videographer, then by learning the different components involved in achieving effective audio & lighting, along with the importance of developing a plot-line to formulate an engaging and compelling story and finally, wrapping it all up with effective editing and exporting to various formats for distribution or screening. In January 2018, he received a Certificate of Graduation in "Video Making and Storytelling".

Today he no longer does weddings. He is a celebrated and respected nature photographer who has won many peer awards. He has honed his own unique style and is being collected worldwide.

The wonder and beauty of Kevin's work connects with people and it seems to have something to do with his process. "The process is very serene and peaceful", said Kevin. "Capturing the incredible specimens on our planet is very satisfying to me."

Kevin also went on to say, "If my work makes people feel as if they are in nature, then imagine how I feel, actually being in it that incredible moment, and the extraordinary memories I cherish of capturing each image. This is why I do what I do."
